Dear Green or greenish friend,
Synthesis/Regeneration 22 (S/R) features articles on four candidates for the Green Party Presidential nomination in 2000: punk rocker Jello Biafra, hippie Steven Gaskin, socialist Joel Kovel, and front runner Ralph Nader. Readers can compare the national contenders to those working on local Green politics in California, Iowa, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Vermont. The section on politics includes discussions of building an independent labor-based party and opportunities of spontaneous upsurges.
The economics section continues the debate on how to create a non- exploitative society which began in the previous issue of S/R. It concludes with reflections on international trade and biodiversity negotiations which took place in Seattle and Montreal.
Rates for S/R 22 are: 1-4 copies, $3.95 each;
