November, 1999
Dear Green or greenish friend,
Synthesis/Regeneration 21 (S/R) will be in Seattle for protests against the meeting of the World Trade Organization, November 29- December 3. With a theme of "Green Economics," S/R 21's articles expose the destructiveness of the rush to undermine labor and environmental protections. Authors present a range of visions for Green economic reorganization which would be in harmony with humanity and nature.
The close of this millennium saw a massive rejection in refusal to eat genetically contaminated food. Several S/R authors document human health and ecological findings during 1999 which contributed to the downswing for the biotech industry.
The WTO and biotechnology are two ways in which the market economy subtly manifests its violence. S/R 21 also explores not-so-subtle forms of violence in class society and Green alternatives to it.
If you can't get S/R 21 in Seattle, rates are:
1-4 copies, $3.95 each;
5-9 copies, $3.00 each;
10+ copies, $2.00 each.Please make checks to "WD Press" and mail to P.O. Box 24115, St. Louis MO 63130. For priority mail orders and orders outside of the US, we will also have to bill for postage. Subscriptions to S/R (4 issues) are $15 (additional postage if outside US).
In solidarity,
Don Fitz, Editor, Synthesis/Regeneration
