GREEN PARTY NATIONAL WOMEN'S CAUCUS ENDORSES KATE
CULVER FOR U.S. CONGRESS, TENNESSEE
Culver Wants to Encourage Local Food Networks
WASHINGTON, D.C. --
The National Women's Caucus of the Green Party of the
United States has announced it's endorsement of Kate
Culver, U.S. Congress, 7th District, Tennessee.
"Katey Culver is a role model of Green Party
leadership for young women in Tennessee and across the
nation, said Kat Swift, Texas Green Party Co-Chair
and Spokesperson for the National Women's Caucus. "As
a permaculture designer and educator, Katey is already
teaching citizens across our nation what it means to
be Green.
Expressing a Green attitude toward governance and
practicing consensus, when asked what would be her
first legislation to sponsor when elected, Culver
responded, I would work with other members of
Congress to find which Green positions had the most
support in Congress. It could be bringing the troops
home, support for CEDAW [the Committee on the
Elimination of Discrimination Against Women] or
environmental measures.
Culver has been involved with the Green Party for
years, working extensively with the National Women's
Caucus, serving as a party officer locally and in her
state party, plus she currently serves as Co-Chair of
the Green Party of the United States.
Culver is a a strong advocate for family farms and
local food networks, stating that a locally grown,
organic food movement addresses good nutrition while
also supporting local economies.
The family farm in America is an endangered species,
said Culver. An act of supporting family farms is an
act of patriotism. If you love your country, vote
Green. Green is the new red, white and blue.
