June 15 2007:
Our colocation provider Explosive.net has gone out of that business. Domains that were hosted on petra-k.greens.org have been moved to a new computer, rachel.greens.org. The computer petra-k is no longer visible on the Internet. Users who subscribe to the gis-annc mailing list had several weeks' warning.

Over the years many of our users have "wandered off" without saying goodbye. When I discover their domains have expired or been scalped, and their contact info is bad, I disable the accounts.

I believe I copied all active users' passwords and accounts to rachel. If you find you can no longer log in, mail me at gis@greens.org. I'm on the road today but should be back tonight.

The Green Internet Society

I, (Cameron L. Spitzer) provide Web hosting and email services to various Green movement organizations, including political and educational campaigns, student groups, and Green Parties. People donate to "Green Internet Society" (a fictitious business name with a Federal Employer ID number) to help defray expenses. Green Internet Society will never make a profit.

Commercial Internet Service Providers

Some groups prefer to pay for professional service. There is no best ISP for all situations. Take your time and shop around. Search newsgroups especially news.admin.net-abuse.email for complaints: a history of spam support is a sure sign of wider management problems. So is a listing at RFC-Ignorant. I've sent friends to these providers often:
