My sincere thanks to everyone who wrote, faxed and called in support of HB-672 during the 1999 legislative session. Your efforts got the bill out of committee, voted on on the Senate floor and made an issue for the members of the Assembly. It also got us several mentions in the media here. We can't pass this without your help. You put the grassroots into our politics.

The "Jesse Ventura Would Kick Our Collective Ass" Award: To the majority of the House membership, who soundly defeated a bill that would have made it somewhat simpler for third-party candidates to get on the ballot. After all, we can't have just any pointy-headed yahoo who can win an election coming down there with a bunch of crazy ideas. We have our standards.
