The day after Chuck O'Neil was nominated by the Wrightsville Convention as our candidate for Public Service Commissioner, his mother was in a fatal automobile accident. He immediately left for Sacramento California to care for her and tend to her affairs. After a month in a coma, she died.

After the funeral, Chuck and Pat, his partner of ten years, chose to get married and move to California. Consequently, Chuck resigned from the state Council of the Georgia Green Party and has withdrawn from the race. They are to be married in a small family wedding in Buford Georgia on October 24. A reception and fare-well gathering will follow.
