be ``so easy to use as to require no instruction.''

This editor comes with Pine. If you've used Pine, you may have used Pico, too.

Remote access
OpenSSH listens for your connection on
port 22. Use MacSSH or PuTTY (etc) to get a shell. Use MacSSH or WinSCP to copy files.
If you had trouble with SSH before, try this one.
We have retired the commercial SSH daemon.
If you have trouble with a NAT box or firewall, try the ``raw'' FTP server
on port 221. Please do not use raw FTP on a cable modem or college campus.
An experimental FTP server with SSL encryption support listens on port 421.
If you use WS_FTP Pro, Dreamweaver, or Go Live, please
try the ``FTP-over-SSL'' or ``FTP-over-TLS'' feature.
(This is a candidate to replace the wu-ftpd+SafeTP thing.)
Don't worry about the certificate.
